START WITH THE ACTUAL JOB
New flooring can look incomplete when the baseboards, door casings or transitions are left unresolved. A trim request should cover more than the length of the wall: corners, door openings, existing profiles and the intended painted or stained finish all affect the work. Tell us which pieces you want to retain and which should change.

For damaged baseboards or molding, provide a close-up of the profile and a wider view of the area. Matching old material is not guaranteed from a photograph, and replacing a longer run may be worth discussing.
Review whether the existing baseboards will be removed and reinstalled, replaced or finished with an additional trim detail. Floor thickness, door clearance and transitions can change the options at the edge of the room.
FROM REQUEST TO FINISH
Identify each room and opening, existing trim to keep and the desired finish. Share samples or product details before buying a complete material order.
Walls and corners are not always uniform. The scope should address removal, fitting, fastening and the treatment of visible joints, rather than assuming material alone determines the result.
Discuss nail-hole filling, appropriate caulking, primer and paint or stain. Installation-only and fully finished trim are different services and should be clear in the quote.
A USEFUL QUOTE, NOT A GUESS
Trim pricing depends on length, profile, material, corners, openings, removal and finishing. A short but intricate area may need more work than a long straight run. Request a personal quote rather than applying a flooring square-foot rate to the trim.
Approximate room dimensions and photographs help start the conversation. Note obstacles such as built-ins, baseboard heaters and furniture. Keep a sample of an existing profile when available, and mention any floors that are still due to be installed.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
Possibly. Their condition, attachment and compatibility with the new floor need review. Removal can expose damage, so reuse is not guaranteed before inspection.
Share a sample or close-up profile photo. We can review available options, but an exact match to older or discontinued trim is not promised without confirming the material.
Only when specified. The proposal should distinguish fitting, filling, caulking, priming and the final painted or stained finish.
Yes. Small trim requests are welcome for scope review. Include related wall or flooring work so the sequence and finish can be considered together.
